Devilline

Devilline was named in 1872 by F. Pisani after the French chemist H.E.S-C. The Devilles (1818-1881). Its former name was herrengrundit after the locality Špania Dolina (German Herrengrund). It forms tabular, leafy or acicular crystals grouped into fan-shaped, rosette-shaped or hemispherical aggregates. It is whitish green, green, blue-green to dark emerald green. It is formed as a product of weathering of copper ores, recently in abandoned mining works and on heaps. More info
