Acanthite

Acanthite it was named after G.A. Kenngott after the Greek acanthat - thorn, arrow, expressing the shape of crystals. It occurs on hydrothermal veins with other Ag ores, also as a secondary mineral formed by the conversion of argentite or pure silver. It forms granular and massive aggregates, lanceolate or thorny crystals, skeletal, shrub-like or wire-like aggregates such as pseudomorphs after silver. It is lead gray to black. More info
