The name Chalcopyrite comes from the Greek words chalkos - copper and pyr - fire. The old Czech name is copper kyz. Chalcopyrite consists of granular, renal, grape to massive aggregates, coatings, but also multiple crystal adhesions. It most often occurs on ore veins.
