Kermesite
The name kermesite comes from the Arabic qurmizq - red. It is formed as a decomposition product during the oxidation of antimony on ore veins. It forms lamellar to acicular crystals, mostly imperfectly developed. Its aggregates are usually radiate, bundled or form coatings and crusts. It is also found in powder coatings on antimony needles. The color is silver, cherry red to purple red.
