Kunzite

Kunzite is a variety of the relatively rare mineral spodumene and, like tanzanite Cr-diopside, Paraiba and Cr-tourmaline, are one of the youngest gems. Bottom crystals participate in the construction of rocks close to granites - pegmatites and if they occur in pegmatite cavities, they usually form tabular or columnar crystals (rarely occurs in aggregates), always vertically grooved. However, they are often very strongly corroded by aggressive solutions that flowed around them after their crystallization and therefore have a very irregular surface. Although the rock-forming bottoming forms unique large crystals, they are almost always white to yellowish, cracked, opaque. Kunstite gemstone crystals are usually small, usually only x cm in size. Kunzite is pink to pink-purple. More info
