Mordenite

Mordenite is a calcium-aluminum silicate from the group of zeolites, chem. (CaNa2K2) (Al2Si10O24) .7H2O. It was named after the Morden type locality in the province of Nova Scotia in Canada. It forms columnar crystals, acicular to fibrous radially radiate aggregates or is usually solid. It is colorless, white, pinkish or flesh pink. It occurs in cavities and cracks of volcanics, such as basalts, in olivine basalts and pegmatites. More info
