This Weloganite comes from the classic Canadian destination Quebec area Francon Quarry. Weloganite forms yellowish, yellow, whitish, partially translucent, dull to glassy, elongated barrel-shaped crystals reaching a size of up to 8 mm, which grow on a light rhyolite matrix.

Weloganite has chemical formula Na2(Sr,Ca)3Zr(CO3)6·3H2O. Weloganite was discovered by mineralogist Ann P. Sabina in 1967 and named for Canadian geologist Sir William Edmond Logan (1798–1875). Typical locality is Francon Quarry.
