Stibnite

A nice specimen of Stibnite comes from China in the Jiang Xi area, from the Wuning mine. The specimen was found around 2010. Stibnite consists of steel gray with a touch of blue, metallic shiny, longitudinally grooved, thickly acicular, elongated crystals reaching a length of up to 6,2 cm and which grow through each other. The specimen size is 9,5 x 4,5 x 7,7 cm.

Stibnite

Stibnite comes from the Greek word Stibi. was named in 1430 by Basil Valentine. Stibnite is formed on hydrothermal deposits. Sometimes it is also on metasomatic deposits in limestone and granite. They most often form stalked to radial aggregates. Sometimes it is also grainy. The color is steel gray, lead to black, on the surface it turns blue. Metallic shiny.
